“ HIPS is a celebration of Black music and Black movement! It’s a dance floor homage to the rhythms, grooves, and stories of the African diaspora. From Hip Hop to Dancehall & Afrobeats, House to Soul Classics , we move through genres that have shaped global culture, honoring the artists and communities who made them. Come ready to sweat, connect, and let the music take over because when the beat hits, the hips follow.“

HIPS has become a recurring event series centered around celebration, movement, and community energy in Philly nightlife, rooted in sound and shared spaces that draw people in. From themed nights to end-of-year gatherings and recurring “Drinksgiving” and Beyoncé-themed nights, the series lives through music, audience energy, and visual identity that feels alive and responsive.

In collaboration with @itsbobbyflowers, I’ve led the creative direction, developed the brand identity and logo, and built out a flexible marketing system that supports social, flyers, motion clips, and live event visuals with the goal of giving HIPS a recognizable presence starting at the announcement. The visual system is designed to evolve event to event while still feeling rooted in one cohesive identity.
